Your kids are going to figure you out someday!

How many of us tell our kids...

1. You can be anything you want to be in life

2. You can accomplish anything

3. Chase your dreams

I'd be willing to bet almost all of you have said something similar to one of, if not all of those 3 above but...

Are you living life that way yourself?

You see most lessons are caught and not taught

Let me say that again...

Most lessons are caught and not taught

Ever heard the saying actions speak louder than words?

If you've been around kids for more than 5 minutes you know they are super aware and curious of what other people are doing.
Yes! They are watching you!!!

They are watching you to see if your actions back up your words

They are watching you and wondering... 🤔

Why are mom and/or dad telling me I can be anything I want to be? Telling me I can accomplish anything? Telling me to chase my dreams?

But they aren't doing that for themselves?

If mom and/or dad could be anything they wanted to be why did they settle for being ____?

If mom and/or dad can accomplish anything, why haven't they accomplished much?

I wonder when mom and/or dad gave up on their dreams they are always telling me to chase?

Here's what your kids may be thinking...

Parents: "You can be anything you want to be"

Kids : "Really, then how come you're not mom and/or dad?"

Your kids are going to figure you out someday.

You owe it to them and to yourself to still think and dream like a kid. In reality, anything is possible! It doesn't mean it will be easy but it can be done.

Don't just tell them... show them by your actions, results and way you choose to live your life!

P.S. I'm by no means the perfect parent but this has been on my mind recently as I took a few days off from work and just focused on being a dad.

Also, a few more lessons I've learned and conversations around this topic with some extremely high performers I will be sharing soon. Stay tuned 😉
